Report a wrong fact
Corrections
State rules, plate patterns and recall data change. If something on this site is wrong, this page says how to tell us and what happened to the last reports.
How to report a correction
Send the page URL, the sentence that is wrong, and the official source that contradicts it — an agency page, a statute or a NHTSA record — with the date you read it. A correction without a source can be noted, but it cannot be applied.
- Use the contact link: contact us about a correction (the link opens the contact page; put "Correction" in the subject).
- Or email: hello@freeplatelookup.com.
- Or use the link on the page: every content page ends its "Last verified" line with "Report an error", which returns here.
What happens next
We open the source. If it confirms the correction, the page is rebuilt with the new fact, the "Last verified" date is updated and a row is added to the table below. If the source does not confirm it, we say so in the reply and nothing is changed. We do not remove a fact because it is inconvenient, and we do not publish a correction we cannot trace to a source.

Nothing has been corrected since this log started on 2026-11-02. Before that date, fixes were made without a public log — the repository history is the only record.
What is not a correction
A disagreement with what a state actually requires, a request to remove a fact because it is unflattering, or a request for owner information is not a correction. Owner names and addresses are restricted by the DPPA and this site cannot provide them; the DPPA tool explains who can. The method behind every page is on the methodology page.
