One address, read by a person
Contact
FreePlateLookup has one public address and no phone line, live chat or ticket queue. Messages about a wrong fact, a source or a privacy question reach the person who maintains the site.
State what the message is about in the subject line, and include the page URL if it is about a specific page. For a data correction, the fastest route is the corrections page, which lists what evidence we can act on.
What to write about
- A correction: a plate pattern, a state rule, an inspection requirement or a title brand that the official source contradicts. Use the correction link so it is not mistaken for a general question.
- A source we should be using: an agency page that has moved, or an official page we cite that has been rewritten.
- Privacy: a question about what the site stores. The privacy policy covers the VIN and plate handling, the anonymous usage events and the ad cookies.
- Terms: questions about use of the site are answered by the terms of use.
What we cannot do
We cannot look up a plate, a VIN or an owner for you, confirm whether a specific car is stolen, or tell you who was driving. Owner names and addresses are restricted by the Driver's Privacy Protection Act, and no message changes that. For a crash or a hit-and-run, file a police report; for an insurance claim, ask your insurer. What the law allows explains the routes that do exist.
Response time
There is no guaranteed response window. Messages are read in the order they arrive, and a correction with a source is handled before a general question, because it affects what other readers see.
